Test1
About me

My name is Timo and I was born 1984 in Siegen, a nice little city in Germany. I grew up in the beautiful countryside for most of my childhood.

I've been interested in photography since I was a teenager but I didn’t start taking pictures with a "serious" camera until I bought my first DSLR back in 2011... and interest turned into addiction. ☺
It was a pre-owned Nikon D300 and in the beginning I combined it with a borrowed Sigma 50mm ƒ/1.4 lens. Over the years I acquired and tested various other DX and FX format cameras and lenses. But... I always kept the D300.

Over the last years I almost exclusively used Nikon cameras and lenses so far because I have always been very satisfied with them. I'm convinced that few other brands produce similar high-quality camera bodies and lenses and I'd be very curious to hear about what you experienced.

I still enjoy nature as much as I used to when I was a child and I also really like to watch animals in their natural environment. Trips to Africa and Brazil for instance provided me with amazing highlights of Wildlife Photography. If you are looking for recommendations concerning travel agencies or if you are just keen to find out more about great places to spot wildlife, don't hesitate to send me your questions.

Suggestions on your part are very welcome!

Photography

Photography is awesome and I love to capture emotions especially at weddings or concerts. But the vast majority of my favourite moments come from shooting Wildlife.

Spotting and observing leopards or lions through a telephoto lens, "freezing" the incredible moment of standing face to face with a silverback gorilla or searching for Jaguars on the Rio Paraguay ... those are just some examples of unforgettable moments within the last few years.

In 2014, a friend of mine and I did a two-day hike in the yellow mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Huangshan province (China) and on the second day I managed to capture a sweeping sunrise early in the morning. I guess that morning was up until now, my most impressive moment in terms of Landscape Photography.

2017 marked the first highlight of my hobby as I was honored to be the runner-up in a photography competition by Chamäleon-Travel, Berlin.
